John's Tribute Fund

Created by Lesley 16 years ago
Welcome to the Tribute Fund we have set up to commemorate John’s life. John’s MND progressed very fast and quickly robbed him of the ability to speak, swallow, stand, walk – in fact, to do most of the things we all take for granted. As with all sufferers, it left his intellect untouched: it was very hard to watch him as he suffered the creeping and irreversible loss of his independence and dignity, knowing that he understood everything that was happening and was anticipating what the future held. MND is very cruel. David Niven is quoted as saying (aloud, I hope, before MND robbed him of that dashing voice) “Whatever you do, don’t get this bloody awful disease.” Money is needed to fund research into possible causes and cures and also to buy vital equipment for people with MND, things like wheelchairs and Lightwriters which make daily living easier. You can add to this Tribute Fund by making an online donation, or by creating an online sponsorship page to mark a special event or occasion. Simply choose one of the links above to see what possibilities exist. With many thanks and best wishes, Lesley Close
